No, unless you have an international plan for use abroad. Most of the students who have attended this training get some sort of international phone and data plan to be able to call and text. If you use AT&T it is called the Passport Plan. Verizon has the same type of plan.
Is there internet?
Not really. Wifi is not that easy to find in the city either. The best option is to get an international data plan for your phone. You will be glad you have it. You can also get an Indian sim card upon arrival. Sometimes this is easy and sometimes not. You will also need to wait for a day when you have enough time away from training to take care of this.

If you're venturing out on your own, the best, easiest and cheapest way to get around is Uber. If your destination is nearby, of course you can walk. Also there are buses and a metro. The buses require some planning, understanding and courage to use. The metro is easy to use, but the nearest stop is about a 20 minute walk from the school.
Can I drink the water?
There is filtered water at the school that is safe to drink. Besides that you should drink bottled water. It is easy and inexpensive to buy bottled water from any of several vendors near the school.
